Ever get stuck in a middle seat in the back of the plane? What can you do to try and avoid that situation? A couple of things I do help. First make sure you join the airlines frequent flier program. The airlines will recognize their loyal customers and automatically give you a better seat.
Make sure you book your tickets early. The earlier you book the better availability of seating. You can also pay for more legroom on some airlines.
I usually ask for an aisle seat. It gives me a little more shoulder room.
Make sure, if you possibly can, to print out your boarding pass at home, or at least check your reservations online. Try to do it 24 hours before your scheduled departure. At that time the airline will release many of their premium seats and exit row seats. They are yours for the taking.
Chances are pretty good if you follow these steps you'll get a decent seat.
